Let us take a look at some common excuses that people make to skip their diet when traveling or vacationing. An individual who really wants to continue his or her diet will do so even when traveling. Do not be in a hurry to break the diet just because you are on a vacation.

Special dietary requirements

Hotels have a reputation of serving junk food. However, this does not mean that you cannot order nutritious stuff. Have a word with the chef and request them to go easy on use of oil, butter and other fatty substances. Nobody will complain because the request will make the dish cheaper. If you are prepared to pay the same price as listed on the menu, you will find that the chef is more than eager to cooperate with you as far as your diet is concerned. Special diet needs is not a big deal when you are focusing on nutrition.

Not finding your favorite diet food on the hotel menu

There is no need to stick to a specific dish when you are on a vacation. You may be comfortable eating a particular type of salad every morning. However, this does not mean you cannot or should not eat any other type of salad. It is just a question of flexibility. Do you fear that having a different dish will lure you to skip your diet? If so, chances are high that you will skip your diet anyways. It is better to give yourself a chance by trying this approach instead of simply concluding that you cannot continue with your diet.
